The next meeting of the Scientific Council was held at the Institute of Biophysics

A regular meeting of the Scientific Council was held at the Institute of Biophysics of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The meeting was chaired by the Director General of the Institute, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Professor Oktay Gasimov.

At the meeting, reports on the scientific and organizational activities of the laboratories operating under the Institute for the first half of 2025 were heard and extensively discussed. In the reports presented by the heads of the laboratories, the results of ongoing research, scientific publications, international collaborations, and newly obtained scientific findings were thoroughly covered. Members of the Scientific Council voiced proposals regarding the laboratories' activities, and concrete recommendations were made to address existing challenges and define future objectives.

Subsequently, information was presented on the half-year activity of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists of the Institute for 2025. The report highlighted seminars, scientific-practical events, efforts to participate in local and international projects, and publication of scientific articles involving young researchers. The active participation of the council members was positively assessed, and their initiatives contributing to the institute were supported.

The meeting also addressed issues related to the upcoming doctoral entrance exams within the PhD program at the institute. Examination questions for the subjects “Biophysics,” “Biochemistry,” and “Genetics” were discussed and approved by the Scientific Council. It was noted that the questions were designed based on current scientific standards, aligned with the curricula, and structured to assess candidates’ scientific preparedness.

At the end of the meeting, current issues were reviewed. Matters concerning support for scientific articles published in internationally indexed journals, scientific trips of young researchers, and improvement of the material and technical base were discussed, and relevant decisions were adopted.

Finally, an exchange of views was held on the institute’s future scientific strategy, priority research directions, and the application of innovative approaches. The meeting participants emphasized the importance of maintaining the positive dynamics observed in the institute’s activities and achieving even greater scientific results.
