Banu Agamaliyeva, a junior research assistant at the Institute of Biophysics under the Ministry of Science and Education, provided information on the overnight cultivation of E. coli DH5 alpha strain cells transformed with pUC-19 plasmid vector in LB medium supplemented with ampicillin, followed by the extraction of plasmid DNA from E. coli bacterial cells through the alkaline lysis miniprep method, and then carried out the cultivation of the culture.

Afsana Huseynova, scientific worker of the "Structure, Dynamics, and Function of Biomolecules" laboratory, discussed the measurement of the electrical parameters of fibroin layers using the Keysight E4990A Impedance Analyzer.

In the "Biophysics of Physico-Chemical Stress Factors" laboratory, experiments were conducted with undergraduate students using chemical luminescence methods to investigate changes in antioxidant content and antiradical resistance in lysates and membranes of various samples treated with ZnCl2.

Matanat Bakhishova, chairman of the Council of Young Scientists and Experts, scientific worker of the "Molecular and Cell Biochemistry" laboratory provided extensive information on two major directions of the institute: neurodegenerative diseases related to aging and cancer diseases. She acquainted the students with the institute's work in these areas, provided explanations on modern equipment in the laboratories, and elaborated on the nature, application, and expected benefits of the research conducted using these devices. Furthermore, she instructed the students on laboratory procedures, safety measures, and helped them develop practical skills through hands-on experiments.

Gunay Aliyeva, a junior research assistant, and Fidan Bagirova, a master's student, explained the process of agarose gel electrophoresis for separating DNA fragments to the students of the Biology Faculty at BSU and demonstrated it practically with them.
