It is 60th anniversary of Ph.D. in Medical Sciences Azad Ramiz Abdurahimov, the deputy director for innovation and transfer of the institute of Biophysics of ANAS.
Azad Ramiz Abdurahimov was born on July 7, 1960, in Baku. In 1977, after graduating from secondary school No. 177 in Yasamal district, he continued his education at the faculty of Preventive medicine of the Azerbaijan State Medical Institute named after N.Narimanov (present Azerbaijan Medical University). After graduating from high school, he started working at the Central Hovza Hospital named after M.N.Gadirli.
A.Abdurahimov having started his career in 1980 when he was a student, as a junior medical officer in the Central Hovza Hospital named after M.N.Gadirli worked as an intern doctor here, as a ship doctor in 1984 and as a doctor-therapist in the polyclinic department of the above-mentioned hospital in 1988.
He worked as the deputy chief physician for expert work in 1988-1989 and the acting chief physician in the Hovza Polyclinic named after Zagfederation, he held the post of chief physician of the Hovza Polyclinic named after the ParCommune in 1989-1990, as the deputy chief physician for medical work in the Central Hovza Hospital named after M.N. Gadirli in 1990-2005, as a chief of the Medical Department of the Azerbaijan Caspian Shipping Company in 2005-2008, as an Executive Director of the Central Seamen’s Hospital for 2008-2009.
In 2009, he worked at the National center of Oncology of the Ministry of health of the Republic of Azerbaijan as Deputy General Director, and in 2011-2015 as chief physician.
In 2015, A.Abdurahimov defended his Ph.D. thesis in medical Sciences on the topic “The epidemiological features of esophageal cancer in Azerbaijan”.
The staffs of the Institute congratulate Azad Abdurahimov for his 60th anniversary, wish him good health and success in his scientific career.
