The first meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Biophysics in 2022 was held

On January 26, the meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Biophysics of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan (ANAS) was held.

The meeting was opened by the general director of the institute, a corresponding member of ANAS Oktay Gasimov, who informed the Council members about the issues on the agenda.

In accordance with the ”Thematic plan of research work carried out at ANAS for 2021-2025″, approved by the decree of the Presidium of ANAS dated October 1, 2021, a broad discussion of the comprehensive plan of research work to be carried out at the scientific institution in 2022 were discussed. Speaking on this issue, the General Director gave relevant instructions and recommendations to the heads of laboratories to continue research in modern and relevant priority areas.

Then, according to the agenda, the Scientific Council discussed the exclusion of a junior researcher of the Laboratory of Integrative Biology Turkan Samedova from the doctoral program for the preparation of a doctor of Philosophy. It was noted that T.Samadova, having become the winner of the “State Program for improving the international competitiveness of the Higher Education System in the Republic of Azerbaijan for 2019-2023” and has received the right to continue her studies at the University of Montpellier in France, was excluded from the doctoral program of the Institute of Biophysics on her own application. The Scientific Council unanimously decided to raise a petition to the Department of Physical, Mathematical and Technical Sciences of ANAS on this issue.

At the meeting, the progress of the winter exam session of the 2021/22 academic year of the Masters studying at the Institute of Biophysics, holding scientific seminars of the Institute and other current issues were discussed.
