The employees of the AMEA Biofizika Institute participated in the congress held in Sochi

The employees of the "Ecological Biofizika" Laboratory of the AMEA Biofizika Institute, Prof. Tokay Hüseynov, Ph.D. Ruhiyyə Quliyeva, M.Sc. Sevil Məhərrəmova, and Researcher of the "Structure, Dynamics, and Functions of Biomolecules" Laboratory, Arzu Aydəmirova, participated in the "6th Congress of Russian Biophysicists" held from September 16-21, 2019, in Sochi.

At the congress dedicated to the current problems of modern biophysics, presentations were made on topics such as photobiology, including photosynthesis, the interaction of weak electromagnetic fields with living cells, bioinformatics, nitric oxide in biomedicine, molecular interactions in water, and the application of stem cells in medicine.

During the plenary session of the congress, Prof. Tokay Hüseynov presented a report titled "Comparative evaluation of changes in glutathione peroxidase and catalase activities in isolated human erythrocytes under the influence of nitrites."

Subsequently, during the sectional meetings of the congress, R. Quliyeva presented the report "Serum chemiluminescence as an express method for assessing nitrite intoxication," S. Məhərrəmova presented "Resistance of human erythrocytes to hemolysis under the influence of high-voltage electric fields (50 Hz)," and A. Aydəmirova presented "Lung cancer biomarker analysis using FTIR spectra of human blood plasma." The researchers effectively represented their scientific institution with oral and poster presentations.

At the end of the event, certificates were presented to the participants.
