The next meeting of the Scientific Council was held

On April 16, 2019, the next meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Biophysics of ANAS was held, chaired by the director of the institute, Professor Oktay Qasımov.

At the meeting, the first issue discussed was the Presidium Decision of ANAS dated April 3, 2019, № 8/10 on the creation of a joint laboratory of “Molecular and Cellular Oncology” in collaboration with the National Oncology Center of the Ministry of Health of Azerbaijan. The issue of appointing the head of the laboratory was discussed. By the decision of the Scientific Council, the head of the laboratory was appointed as Professor Oktay Qasımov from the Institute of Biophysics of ANAS, and from the other side, Dr. Leyla Məlikova, Doctor of Philosophy in Biology, who will work on a voluntary basis.

Then, the Institute’s Scientific Secretary, Dr. Florida Mehrəliyeva, provided information on the results of the attestation of the PhD students. After discussions, the results were accepted and approved by the Scientific Council.

Next, the members were informed about the Action Plan related to the implementation of tasks set by the Presidential Decree of Ilham Aliyev dated December 6, 2016, on the “Approval of Strategic Roadmaps for the Key Sectors of the Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan”, and in particular about the “Action Plan for the Strategic Roadmaps for the Key Sectors of the Economy of Azerbaijan for 2019-2020”. Discussions were held on the tasks and responsibilities of the scientific institution in this regard, and a number of proposals were made.

After discussing the matters, the meeting was concluded.
