An event dedicated to the commemoration day of National Leader Heydar Aliyev was held at the Institute of Biophysics

On December 12, an event dedicated to the commemoration of National Leader Heydar Aliyev was held at the Institute of Biophysics under the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The participants first honored the cherished memory of the Great Leader with a minute of silence.

The director general of the institute, corresponding member of ANAS (Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences), Oktay Gasimov, delivered an opening speech, highlighting Heydar Aliyev's historic contributions to strengthening Azerbaijani statehood and ensuring stability in the country. He noted that in the early 1990s, the country faced severe economic and political crises. During this difficult period, it was thanks to Heydar Aliyev’s wise leadership that stability was restored in Azerbaijan and the foundation for development was laid. "Representatives from foreign countries also emphasize that the stability in Azerbaijan is lacking in many European countries. This stability was established by the Great Leader and continues to this day," said O. Gasimov. He also urged scientists to be more active in promoting scientific achievements.

At the event, junior scientific researcher of the Integrative Biology Laboratory, Lala Mammadova, spoke, emphasizing that the National Leader remains immortal in the memory of the Azerbaijani people as a founding leader and a strong statesman. She stated that Heydar Aliyev was a great figure who strengthened Azerbaijan’s independence and led the country out of chaos onto the path of development. Lala Mammadova added that Heydar Aliyev’s decisive stance and visionary policies played a key role in strengthening Azerbaijan’s position in the international arena and implementing major energy projects.

The speeches also extensively discussed Heydar Aliyev’s contributions to restoring socio-political stability in Azerbaijan, forming strategies for socio-economic development, promoting democracy, ensuring human rights, and his services in foreign policy. Projects such as the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline, the "Contract of the Century," and many other significant initiatives were noted as results of the Great Leader's foresight.

At the end of the event, a documentary film dedicated to National Leader Heydar Aliyev was screened. The film was watched with great interest by the participants.

Concluding the event, Oktay Gasimov stated, "Heydar Aliyev is a leader who left an indelible mark on the history of Azerbaijan. His state-building traditions, strategic development concepts, and stability policies serve as a roadmap for future generations. We must preserve and develop his legacy."
