"Digital Medicine 4.0: Challenges, Opportunities, and Prospects" II Republican Scientific-Practical Conference to Be Held

On May 23, 2025, the II Republican Scientific-Practical Conference "Digital Medicine 4.0: Challenges, Opportunities, and Prospects" will be held, organized by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Health Committee of the Milli Majlis, the National Oncology Center, Azerbaijan Medical University, the Institute of Information Technology of the Ministry of Science and Education, Azerbaijan Technical University, and the Institute of Biophysics.

Objective of the Conference

The aim of the conference is to increase attention to the necessity of addressing scientific issues arising in the process of collecting, processing, and exchanging large-scale digital healthcare and medical data generated in Azerbaijan under digital transformation conditions. It will also focus on the creation and implementation of various medical information systems based on artificial intelligence technologies, improving the quality of medical services, enhancing accessibility to medical knowledge, ensuring patient satisfaction, and facilitating evidence-based medical decision-making. Additionally, the event will serve as an intellectual dialogue platform to discuss existing challenges, opportunities, and prospects for shaping the conceptual and architectural-technological foundations of the country's healthcare infrastructure in the context of Industry 4.0.

Main Directions of the Conference

• Scientific and technological challenges in shaping the country's healthcare and medical infrastructure in the context of Industry 4.0
• Application of artificial intelligence technologies in healthcare organization, treatment, and diagnostics
• Challenges related to the collection, intelligent processing, reliable storage, organization, and management of large-scale medical data continuously generated nationwide
• Issues of ensuring cybersecurity for personal data collected in healthcare and medical activities
• Improving and developing the regulatory-legal framework of healthcare and medical activities in the context of digital transformations
• Problems related to personnel training in medical informatics and biomedical engineering

Requirements for Presentation Submissions

• The conference will accept scientific presentations dedicated to relevant scientific and practical problems within its main directions.
• The presentation should be at least 4 pages long (including tables, figures, and references).
• The submission should be sent electronically to digitalhealth@iit.science.az.
• The presentation must include the relevance of the problem, problem statement, solutions, and the scientific-practical significance of the results.
• The format must comply with the IEEE standard (Examples: Sample_IEEE (eng).doc, Sample_IEEE (aze).doc).
• Equations should be written using Microsoft Equation Editor (with standard parameters).
• The title, abstract, and author(s)' name(s) must be included in English.
• Presenters should prepare slides in MS PowerPoint in "On-screen Show" format.
• Presentations can be delivered in one of the working languages of the conference (Azerbaijani, English, or Russian).

• April 30, 2025 – Notification to authors about the scientific review results
