A scientific seminar on “The Role of Lactate Metabolism Alterations in the Development of Hypoxia in Humans” will be held at the Institute of Biophysics
An academic seminar on “The Role of Lactate Metabolism Alterations in the Development of Hypoxia in Humans” will be held at the Institute of Biophysics of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan on May 30, 2025, at 11:00 AM.
The seminar will feature a presentation by Assoc. Sevinc Jafarova, PhD in Biology, Head of the “Biophysics of Physicochemical Stress Factors” Laboratory.
Brief Information:
Hypoxia is a fundamental problem for organisms relying on aerobic metabolism and triggers a cascade of adaptive and pathophysiological responses across all organizational levels—from the molecular to the systemic level.
The seminar will focus on the biophysical aspects of hypoxia in the human body, particularly changes in lactate metabolism as a key marker and participant in energy exchange. It will also explore the adaptation and dysfunction of red blood cells (erythrocytes), the primary oxygen carriers, under hypoxic conditions, analyzed based on scientific literature and experimental data.
You are cordially invited to participate in the seminar.
