The perspectives of collaboration between the Institute of Physics Problems of Baku State University and the Institute of Biophysics of ANAS were discussed
Today, a meeting was held at the Institute of Biophysics of ANAS with Professor Niftali Gocayev, Head of the Department of Theoretical Physics at the Institute of Physics Problems, and a group of representatives.
The purpose of the meeting was to get acquainted with the activities of the Institute and discuss the prospects for collaboration between the two institutions.
Initially, the guests met with Professor Oktay Gasimov, Director of the Institute of Biophysics, Corresponding Member of ANAS, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences. The meeting was also attended by Professor Karim Gasimov, Deputy Director for Scientific Affairs, Doctor of Biological Sciences, Rasim Aslanov, Leading Scientific Researcher at the "Structure, Dynamics, and Functions of Biomolecules" laboratory, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor, as well as the chief scientific researchers of the Department of Theoretical Physics at the Institute of Physics Problems of ANAS, Professor Namiq Ahmedov and Doctor of Physical Sciences Larisa Ismailova.
During the roundtable meeting, Professor Oktay Gasimov provided detailed information about the activities of the institution he leads, its areas of focus, and its international connections. He also spoke about the research being conducted in the Institute of Biophysics using modern equipment and the achievements obtained.
Then, Professor Niftali Gocayev gave a presentation and informed the attendees that the Department of Theoretical Physics was founded based on the laboratories of "Molecular Biophysics" and "Quantum Mechanics of Atoms and Molecules". He talked about the research conducted in these laboratories, focusing on the structural analysis of protein and peptide molecules.
At the end of the meeting, it was emphasized that there is a need for joint exchange of experience between the two institutes.
