A competition has been announced for the Presidium of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Award

In accordance with the Decree of the President of ANAS, dated December 21, 2018, a competition for the Presidium of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Award is announced for effective activity in the field of science popularization.

The Presidium of ANAS Award is established to promote scientific knowledge, highlight scientific achievements, the contributions of prominent Azerbaijani scientists to science, promote new scientific directions, raise awareness about the activities of the Academy, and stimulate interest in scientific activities among youth.

The competition is organized by the Presidium of ANAS. Only ANAS staff members or scientific teams of the Academy are eligible for the award. The candidates are proposed by scientific councils of scientific institutions and organizations of the Academy.

The following documents must be submitted to the Main Directorate of Science and Education of ANAS by February 15, 2019:

• Nomination letter for the candidate, including detailed information about the scientific-popular work and its author;
• A copy of the author’s ID card;
• One copy of the work being submitted for the competition.

The laureates of the Presidium of ANAS Award will receive a diploma and a monetary award of 3000 manat. In case of a collective award, the diploma is given to each author, and the monetary award is divided equally among the authors.

The results of the competition will be announced during Science Day (March 27).
