On November 20, 2018, the next seminar was held at the Institute of Biophysics of ANAS.

The seminar was opened with an introductory speech by the director of the institute, corresponding member of ANAS, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Professor Oktay Gasimov.

During the seminar, a presentation was delivered by Ruhiyya Tahira gizi Guliyeva, a researcher at the Institute of Biophysics, Chairperson of the Council of Young Scientists and Specialists, Senior Researcher of the "Ecological Biophysics" Laboratory, and PhD in Biology, on the topic:
"Hereditary Hematological Diseases Widespread in Azerbaijan and the Role of Natural Antioxidants in Their Development."

R. Guliyeva emphasized that selenium plays a significant role among antioxidant factors that protect cells and the organism as a whole. She noted that studying its mechanisms of action is a highly relevant issue not only in Azerbaijan but also worldwide.

The seminar was attended by the employees, professors, doctoral students, and PhD candidates of the Institute of Biophysics.

The event concluded with a Q&A session.
