The event was organized by the Faculty of Physics of Baku State University (BSU) and the Research Institute of Physics Problems.

At the opening ceremony, Director of the Center for Organization of Scientific Activity and Innovation, Mais Suleymanov, addressed the participants, providing insights into the development trends in the fields of physics and astronomy, key scientific challenges, and projects being implemented at the university.

Dean of the Faculty of Physics, Professor Bakhtiyar Pashayev, emphasized that modern scientific achievements have laid the foundation for a new stage in the development of physics and astronomy. He highlighted the role of fundamental sciences in societal progress and shared his views on the opportunities and challenges facing physics in the era of artificial intelligence and advanced technologies. He also stressed the importance of engaging young researchers in these areas.

In his speech, Director of the Research Institute of Physics Problems at BSU, Professor Sadiyar Rahimov, noted the participation of representatives from the Institute of Physics, the Institute of Radiation Problems, the Institute of Biophysics, the Shamakhi Astrophysical Observatory named after Nasreddin Tusi under the Ministry of Science and Education, as well as from several universities. He stated that a total of 108 scientific abstracts were accepted for the conference.

Professor Oktay Gasimov, Director General of the Institute of Biophysics under the Ministry of Science and Education, spoke about the research activities carried out at the institute and expressed his gratitude to the organizers for creating such an important platform for young scientists.

Following the plenary session, the conference continued with scientific discussions held across five thematic sections.

Researchers from the Institute of Biophysics also actively participated in the event. Junior research fellow Fidan Gudratova from the “Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry” Laboratory presented a report on “Investigation of New Functional Structures in BK Ion Channels,” and junior research fellow Aysel Aliyeva from the “Cell Signaling” Laboratory delivered a presentation on “Mechanisms of Heme-Mediated Regulation of Ion Channels.” Their presentations were met with great interest by the conference participants.
