A memorial event dedicated to the 34th anniversary of the "20 January tragedy" was held at the Institute of Biophysics

Firstly, a minute of silence was observed in memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the freedom, independence, and territorial integrity of our country.

Opening the event with an introductory speech, the institute's director and corresponding member of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences (ANAS), Oktay Qasimov, spoke about the nature of the "20 January tragedy" and emphasized the importance of conveying the truths related to our blood memory to the current and future generations.

Following that, Sevil Rahmanova, a member of the Council of Young Scholars and Specialists (CYSS) and a researcher at the Environmental Biophysics Laboratory, made a presentation dedicated to the "20 January tragedy." She provided detailed information about the bloody events that took place in Baku on January 20, 1990. She stated that the January Events not only raised the voice of the nation for freedom but also demonstrated courage in the struggle for sovereignty, marking a glorious chapter in history.
