An employee of the Biophysics Institute and the Institute of Genetic Resources of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, corresponding member of ANAS, Ilham Shahmuradov, participated with a presentation at the European Biotechnology Congress.
The European Biotechnology Congress was organized by the European Biotechnology Thematic Network Association (EBTNA; https://www.ebtna.eu/) and held in Istanbul, Turkey. At the Congress, which was attended by 200 researchers from 15 countries (including the United Kingdom, Austria, France, Turkey, and others), Ilham Shahmuradov, head of the Integrative Biology Laboratory at the Biophysics Institute of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, chief scientific researcher of the Central Information Database group at the Institute of Genetic Resources, and Azerbaijan’s National Coordinator of EBTNA, gave an oral presentation titled “Additional Open Reading Frames in Annotated mRNAs of Mammals and Plants May Encode Unknown Proteins.” He also chaired one of the scientific sessions. During the Congress, productive discussions on scientific collaboration were held with various scientists. Professor Munis Dundar, President of EBTNA, expressed his hope for broader and more active representation of Azerbaijani scientists in this organization.
