On October 24, 2024, a seminar titled "The Future of the World, Climate Change, and the Environment" was held by Banu Aghamaliyeva, a junior researcher from the Institute of Biophysics of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan, at the Zərifə Aliyeva Lyceum. During the seminar, she provided an in-depth discussion on the causes of climate change and presented current statistical data on the subject, explaining how climate change affects human life and the environment. The seminar also covered the ecological problems caused by climate change and its negative impact on human health.
In her presentation, Banu Aghamaliyeva highlighted specific outcomes of climate change, such as global warming, the melting of glaciers, rising sea levels, and the increase in extreme weather events. She explained how these processes negatively affect agriculture, water resources, ecosystems, and human health.
Additionally, Aghamaliyeva provided insights into sustainable development and ways to combat climate change. She emphasized the importance of increasing the use of renewable energy sources (such as solar and wind energy), enhancing energy efficiency, and using natural resources more effectively. Banu Aghamaliyeva also stressed the significance of strengthening global climate agreements and international cooperation, as well as the responsibility of individuals and societies in addressing this issue.
At the end of the seminar, participants asked questions and discussed additional measures that could be taken to combat climate change. The seminar aimed to raise awareness among young people about ecological problems and encourage support for the fight against climate change.
