An event was held at the Institute of Biophysics to mark the 33rd anniversary of the January 20 tragedy
A commemoration event dedicated to the 33rd anniversary of the January 20 tragedy was held at the Institute of Biophysics, organized by the core organization of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) and the Young Scientists and Specialists Council (YSSC).
The event began with a moment of silence to honor the memory of those who sacrificed their lives for the freedom, independence, and territorial integrity of our country.
Opening the event, the Director of the Institute, Corresponding Member of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Oktay Gasanov emphasized the importance of conveying the truths about the January 20 tragedy to present and future generations and stressed the significance of preserving historical memory.
Then, Aidə Məmmədzadə, a member of the YSSC and a scientific researcher at the Laboratory of Biomolecular Structure, Dynamics, and Function, gave a presentation, providing detailed information about the bloody events that took place in Baku on January 20, 1990. She noted that the Bloody January events also marked a proud history when the Azerbaijani nation raised its voice for freedom and demonstrated courage in the fight for its sovereignty.
