The Institute of Biophysics of the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan hosted an event dedicated to November 8 — Victory Day.

The event began with a minute of silence to honor all our martyrs who gave their lives for the liberation of our lands, wrote our glorious history of victory, and the hundreds of civilians who perished as a result of terrorist acts in Tartar, Barda, and Ganja.

The event was opened by the Director of the Institute, Corresponding Member of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Oktay Gasanov, who congratulated the staff on the upcoming Victory Day. He noted that under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, the powerful Azerbaijani army, with great heroism and high professionalism, conducted 44 days of military operations and liberated our long-occupied lands. “With this brilliant historical victory, our victorious army avenged the martyrs of both the First and Second Karabakh Wars and the victims of terrorist acts,” said O. Gasanov.

Then, Banu Agamaliyeva, a junior researcher in the Laboratory of Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry at the Institute of Biophysics, spoke about the mobilization of society, the unity of the people, the army, and the state, the victories, and the heroism of our soldiers during the war, which started on September 27, 2020, and lasted for 44 days.
