A meeting was held at the Institute of Biophysics with a professor from Samara University

The Director of the Institute of Biophysics, Corresponding Member of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences Oktay Gasanov, met with Professor Svetlana Pavlovna Kotova from the Department of Optics and Spectroscopy of Samara University.

The roundtable meeting was also attended by the Executive Director of the Institute of Biophysics, Doctor of Biological Sciences Kərim Qasımov, Chief Manager, PhD in Technical Sciences Azad Əbdürəhimov, Scientific Secretary, PhD in Biological Sciences, Associate Professor Florida Mehrəliyeva, Leading Scientific Researcher at the Laboratory of Biomolecule Structure, Dynamics, and Functions, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor Rasim Aslanov, Leading Scientific Researcher at the Laboratory of Ecological Biophysics, PhD in Biological Sciences, Associate Professor Sevinc Cəfərova, Head of the Department of Optics and Molecular Physics at Baku State University, Professor Rəna Qasımova, Leading Scientific Researcher at the Scientific Research Institute of Physics Problems at Baku State University, Qəzənfər Bayramov, Senior Scientific Researcher at the Institute of Physics Abbas İmaməliyev, and Associate Professor at the Faculty of Energy at Azerbaijan State Oil and Industry University, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences İbrahim Abbasov.

During the meeting, Oktay Gasanov talked about the significant scientific importance of the research carried out at the Institute of Biophysics in the fields of oncology and neurodegenerative diseases, the ongoing joint projects, and the results achieved. Furthermore, discussions were held about establishing future relations and conducting joint scientific research, as well as organizing other joint projects.

Later, Svetlana Kotova toured the institute’s laboratories, was informed about the scientific research conducted with modern equipment in priority areas, and highly appreciated the conditions created for ensuring the effective activities of the researchers.
