A meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Biophysics was held

On November 3, the Institute of Biophysics held its next meeting of the Scientific Council.

The meeting was opened by the Director of the Institute, Corresponding Member of the Azerbaijan National Academy of Sciences, Oktay Gasanov, who introduced the members of the council to the issues on the agenda.

The meeting began with the reports of the leading scientific researcher of the Laboratory of Biomolecule Structure, Dynamics, and Functions, PhD in Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor Rasim Aslanov, and the scientific researcher of the Laboratory of Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry, Mətanət Baxışova, who were on a scientific mission at Istanbul University from October 25 to 28. It was noted that during their meeting with Turkish scientists, the results of joint work within the framework of the TÜBİTAK project were widely discussed, and prospects for future cooperation on a new project were exchanged. The report was deemed satisfactory by the Scientific Council and approved.

Next, the individual work plans of the graduate students admitted to the Institute of Biophysics for the 2022/2023 academic year were discussed and approved.

Finally, the issue of nominating a candidate for the 2023 President’s Award for Youth from the Institute of Biophysics was discussed. Based on the decision of the council members, the candidacy of Aytac Cavanşir qızı Məmmədova, an engineer from the Laboratory of Biomolecule Structure, Dynamics, and Functions, was proposed and unanimously accepted.
