At the Institute of Biophysics of ANAS research works are carried out on new laboratory equipments

At the Institute of Biophysics of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan, research works are carried out on new laboratory equipments.

The Institute, equipped with many modern devices, conducted scientific experiments on these equipments. For this purpose, the Institute of Biophysics developed biophysical, biochemical and molecular biological methods.

Junior researcher of the laboratory of “Structure, dynamics, and function of biomolecules” Laman Dashdamirova and magistrate of the Institute of Physics Said Pashayev conduct research with the equipment of Langmuir & Langmuir Blodgett.

According to the researchers, KSV NIMA Langmuir allows to obtain a monolayer in the liquid-gas phase, while NISA Langmuir KSV allows to obtain both a monolayer and enables this layer to be flowed to solid surface.

Researchers at the 1 boundary of the liquid-phase KSV NIMA Langmuir system, obtain monolayers of protein molecules and measuring the surface pressure, investigate the structural changes occurring in this layer.

To improve the quality of experiments, the laboratory staff with the participation of a master student developed a syringe pump, which is controlled by a computer. This allows the protein to flow into phases in any given amount and at a certain rate.

Also in the laboratory, to observe conformational changes at different temperatures the thermostat device was installed.
