A meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Biophysics was held

A regular meeting of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Biophysics was held.

Opening the meeting, the Director General of the Institute, corresponding member of ANAS Oktay Gasimov acquainted the members of the Council with current issues.

He brought to the attention of the members of the Council the tasks arising from the decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev on declaring 2023 the “Year of Heydar Aliyev” in the Republic of Azerbaijan dated September 29, 2022. In accordance with this order, he gave relevant instructions in connection with the holding of events at the Institute dedicated to the life and rich heritage of national leader Heydar Aliyev.

Then the tasks arising from the resolution of the Presidium of ANAS dated September 30, 2022 on the results of research work carried out in ANAS and other scientific and higher educational institutions of the republic in the current year were discussed. Speaking in connection with this issue, the scientific Secretary of the Institute, Associate Professor Florida Mehralieva informed the heads of laboratories about the preparation of relevant reports.

Then the results of the attestation of the doctoral student of the Institute of Biophysics for the preparation of Doctors of Sciences, Ph.D. in Biology Leylakhanum Malikova, were discussed and approved.

The meeting also heard the report of the Executive Director of the Institute of Biophysics, Doctor of Biological Sciences Karim Gasimov on a scientific trip together with the head of the Laboratory of Integrative Biology, corresponding member of ANAS Ilham Shahmuradov to Georgia from October 3 to 7. The scientist noted that in addition to participating in the international scientific conference of the Association for Biosafety in Central Asia and the Caucasus on the topic “COVID-19: Lessons Learned”, organized jointly by the European Union and the US State Department in Tbilisi, they also got acquainted with the activities of the NCDC/R. Lugar center and held fruitful discussions on the possibilities of cooperation in the scientific-research field.

In conclusion, the members of the Council were informed about the process of studies of masters of the I and II courses of the Institute. Professor Oktay Gasimov noted that in order to check the quality of the current year’s educational process, regular meetings with masters will be organized.
