The director of the Institute of Biophysics of ANAS, member-correspondent of ANAS, Oktay Qasımov, participated in the 63rd session of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) held from September 16-20, 2019, in Vienna, Austria.

During the visit, O. Qasımov took part in the scientific forum titled "A Decade of Cancer Fighting and the Way Forward", engaging in discussions. He met with IAEA radiation biology experts Oleg Belyakov and Kamal Akbarov to discuss the achievements and future perspectives in this field, as well as to hold productive discussions about joint scientific research in the future.

It is worth noting that the session brought together high-level delegations from over 170 IAEA member countries, promoting nuclear safety, radiation protection, and the peaceful use of nuclear energy.
