Biophysics.az, citing muallim.edu.az, reports that on May 23, 2025, the 9th International Scientific Conference of Young Researchers, dedicated to the 102nd anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s birth, was launched through the joint organization of Baku Engineering University (BEU) and the State Customs Committee Academy.

The event began with a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs, followed by the national anthem. At the opening ceremony, BEU's Vice-Rector for Science and Innovation, Aghasi Malikov, and Deputy Head for Scientific Affairs of the State Customs Committee Academy, Jamila Namazova, spoke about the significance of the event and the role of youth in the development of science and education. It was noted that this year's international conference brought together researchers from countries such as Poland, Norway, Georgia, Russia, and Pakistan. Out of 472 scientific articles submitted, 357 were selected for presentation.

Researchers from the Institute of Biophysics under the Ministry of Science and Education of the Republic of Azerbaijan also actively participated in the conference. Fidan Gudratova, a junior researcher at the “Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry” laboratory, delivered a presentation on “New Functional Structure within the Human BK Ion Channel.” Her report focused on the structural features of ion channels and their effects on intracellular functions.

Another junior researcher from the same laboratory, Sevda Mahmudova, presented on “Her2-her3 Breast and Lung Cancer, Brain Metastasis Therapy,” discussing targeted molecular treatment strategies for oncological diseases.

From the “Cell Signaling Transmission” laboratory, Aysel Aliyeva presented a report on “Mechanism of Bioelectric Signal Transmission Controlled by Heme,” highlighting the role of the heme molecule in regulating intracellular electric signals.

The presentations by the Institute's researchers were well received by conference participants and were highly appreciated by the scientific community. At the end of the presentations, certificates were awarded to the speakers.

The active participation of young researchers from the Institute of Biophysics in international scientific platforms and their achieved results are of great significance for the development of the Institute's scientific potential and its integration into the global scientific community.
