On January 15, 2019, the first meeting of the Scientific Council in the new working year, chaired by Professor Oktay Gasimov director of the Institute of Biophysics of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan was held.
According to the agenda, the decree of the Presidium of ANAS “On expanding the integration of information on important scientific achievements of ANAS in international scientific bases” dated December 14, 2018, № 17/3 and also decree № 17/4 “On the Republican competition of research projects for young scientists” dated December 14, 2018, were discussed.
A representative of “Thomson Reuters” at the Institute of Biophysics, scientist of the laboratory “Structures, Dynamics and Function of Biomolecules”, dissertant of the Institute of Physics of ANAS, Arzu Aydamirova delivered detailed information about “Web of Science” platform. She said the services provided by “Thomson Reuters” is very important for adapting scientific research conducted in our institute to the world standards, as well as for our scholars in terms of becoming informed about the scientific research conducted in the world.
Then, the report of Elbay Malikmamedov, a junior research scientist of the laboratory of “Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry”, who was in a scientific trip in Turkey, Ankara by invitation Middle East Technical University, from December 17 to 21, 2018 was heard. E. Malikmamedov spoke in detail about his researches. By decision of the Scientific Council, the report was approved.
Later, members of the Council discussed the work plan of the Scientific Council for 2019. Decisions were made on the preparation of work plans for laboratories and departments, as well as individual work plans for research workers for the new working year.
At the meeting, the issue of establishing the doctorate at the Institute of Biophysics of ANAS was considered and various proposals were sounded.
In conclusion, for the academic title of associate professor, were nominated candidates Ruhiyya Tahiraga Guliyeva senior researcher of the laboratory of “Environmental Biophysics”, doctor of philosophy in biology and Scientific secretary of the İnstitute of Biophysics, Ph.D. in Biology Florida Mehraliyeva Radik. The proposal was put to a vote and unanimously adopted.
