31 years pass since the January 20 Tragedy

Thirty-one years have passed since the events of January 20, 1990, which are went into history as the tragedy of “Black January”.

On the night of January 20, 1990, the former Soviet military troops attacked Baku and carried out the punitive measures with unprecedented cruelty. During the tragedy the courageous sons of the Azerbaijani people who stood up for the motherland’s dignity, honour and freedom became martyrs.

We bow before the souls of our martyrs who gave their lives in Bloody January of 1990 for the freedom of Azerbaijan, and we remember them with deep respect. May God have mercy on all our Martyrs. The memory of our Martyrs will always be a saint for us.
